Fast & Furious teaser trailer drifts onto the web

(click Michelle's teeth for the Quicktime trailer)
Fast & Furious

UPDATE: If you can't wait for the Quicktime, here it is for you streaming!

Here it is. The trailer I've been waiting for all my life. Well, at least since the original TFATF in 2001. A continuation of those characters' story. Will it suck? Probably. Will I enjoy watching it? Yup, pretty much going to love it. The stunts look pretty cool, actually. Overall a dope trailer. Hopefully the craptacular dialogue and acting will be held over enough to give us all a reason to go check this out when it drops next year. If only I could watch this at the drive-in like the last one. Check out the trailer here and more some exclusive pics here at IGN.

Fast & Furious powerslides us some official pics

Love & hate. That's how I feel about the original The Fast & The Furious as I'm pretty sure I've mentioned before. And it's because of this internal struggle that I'm genuinely looking forward to the latest installment, coming next year. Well USA Today has posted some new pics here to quench our thirst for speed & angry. Ah, it's good to come come....and if those don't bring back the memories, maybe this little image from Rob Stank will, if not at least a chuckle.

NOOOoo! TFATF is now just FAF; next The Fast And The Furious film gets new title

Here at Dumb Drum, we love all things TFATF. And we love acronyms with a bunch of letters that spell nothing. So it pains me to report that the peeps over at IGN.com have revealed that the next installment in the awesome franchise will be titled simply Fast And Furious. Well, I guess is saves me some typing time..... As we mentioned before, Paul Walker, Vin Diesel, Jordana Brewster and Michelle Rodriguez return to reprise their roles (if your interested in plot spoilers, check this post for some sad news for Letty fans) and seeks to close finish up the series. Well, Justin Lin is directing and he's been quoted as saying he has one more FAF film in him after this but lets wait and see what happens, okay? Look out for it and dumb ass kids burning out in their parents minivan in theater parking lots Summer of 2009.

Someone went back for Letty; another TFATF alumni returns

Oh, Michelle Rodriguez....how you let me down. After seeing "Girlfight" I became a huge fan of the girl, actively waiting to see what she was going to do next, hoping she'd be able to spread her wings and become the dope-ass actress that she showcased in the film. Her next film was a small film called The Fast And The Furious. Oh yes, I can't wait to see it. I saw it. And she turns out she plays the same character in every movie, only this time her name was Letty instead of Diana. And she's been doing it ever since. Meh. Well, at least they're bring her back for one more round as Letty. According to her web site, she's recently signed on to revise her role in the fourth installment of TFATF, rejoining her co-stars Vin Diesel & Paul Walker. A reunion? Hopefully they'll get everyone back, even Jesse will be resurrected. And we can NOT have Coyotes R' Us Vincent return, in all his robotic movement-glory. Fuck it....BRING EVERYONE BACK! It'll be good to reunite with old friends....and make fun of them, cause they ain't gonna be doing shit after this one! And to Michelle: Please try your best to prove me wrong.

The Frank Castle of the Import Scene

Did you see it again for the the first time? Remember seeing that there trailer in a pre-9/11 2001? Oh how things were so much simpler back then. The Limp Bizkit song that actually worked with the trailer (again, nostalgia rears it's ugly head into that thought), the recently out of production Toyota Supra racing a Dodge Charger, that awesome crash at the end....looking at it now, it was destined to be a classic just from the trailer ( I mean, shit....it's one of those "In a world..." trailers!). And on June 22nd, it was released. And, as a direct result, within months the scene was dead in Fresno. "How can a film change things in the real world?" one might ask. This was one of the first times that I saw first hand the imprint film was capable of leaving in our real world. But overall, was it was a good or bad imprint? That's the question with this film. On one hand, the attention it brought onto the scene that was, ultimately, the cause of it's implosion. On the other, it was the fertilizer that caused it to bloom into the $257 billion dollar business it is now. Sellout? Perhaps. But it was going to go mainstream eventually. What I ponder is what if this wasn't the way it was supposed to happen. Think about it in terms of a musical artist. Would you rather be know for working hard out of your apartment putting out record after record, playing joints that only very few people had actually ever heard of, all before being signed to a major record label and then blowing up or would you take the instant fame that would be thrust upon you by winning a national contest such as American Idol? No training, no background, no history. Just bam! Your a star. Either way, the outcome is the same, but the means of getting to that point are vastly different. This film, as a whole and it's lasting effects, is not too different from what The Punisher does. Sure, he only kills bad guys, but killing is killing, right? Or is it okay in some instances? Well, this'll be up for debate for years to come but please, I'd like to hear your views on this anit-hero of a film that is TFATF! Because all in all, I'm just a filmmaker trying to make my own imprint in the real world, without having to resort to Frank Castle-type tactics. Or is that the path I should be taking with Blur?
