Behold the great Soundwave! Aight, I wasn't too excited about the Transformers line when it was announced at Comic Con but that looks pretty bad ass!
And although these have been announced for a while, here is the first pic of the entire next wave. Classic Iron Man FTW! And finally, it has been announced that the Indiana Jones line has been canceled. WTF!? I want my damn Dr. Henry Jones, dammit! I know people that have picked these up but according to Mighty Muggs Lounge (which is where all these pictures & info come from), all Waves (including Wave 2) have been cancelled. Time to start picking them up on eBay, people!

Indy 4 hits DVD Oct. 14; exclusive local pics try to hold us over

click pics to enbiggen
So Indy 4 might not have been the bad ass movie we all hoped it would of been. I'm okay with that, it was still entertaining. Well, last week, Paramount announced specs for the DVD release (on October 14th) of the film that will undoubtedly have some behind the scenes footage of local origin. And with the announcement comes these exclusive pics Dumb Drum received from the Fresno Film & Entertainment Commission, who worked hand in hand with Indiana Jones producers from Paramount Pictures when they came to the valley to shoot some scenes at Chandler Airport and Eagle Field in Firebaugh. Lookit Harrison taking a glance over at the SPCA down the road from Chandler. See him take in the beautiful Eagle Field scenery as his ride takes off. Oh yeah, there's Shia in the shots, pre-hand smashin'. So buy the DVD (can I say "support local films"? They did pump some Hollywood cash into our economy) and if you see a fat dude behind the fence holding a camera, looking all paparazzi-like, that's probably me. Check out IGN here for all the specs on the DVD and Blu-Ray releases on October 14th.

Eagle Field to host Dinner Dance & Fly-In this Saturday night
So we all got excited for nothing when Indiana Jones came into town last year, filmed and ended up using about 2 seconds of that whole thing in the final cut. No biggie, right? Well this weekend you have the chance to visit the Peruvian airport...uh, I mean Eagle Field, when they host a Dinner Dance and Fly-In. Although not much info is available on the official web site, I called the info line and found out that tickets are $75 a person for the event. Here's the info blurb found on the web site:
Yeah, I'm not quite making to swing those ticket prices (although it is for a good cause, preserving the airfield & honoring WW2 vets) so it's doubtful I'll be able to make it. But if you can swing that and are in the mood for some good food, a big band and a full on Swing Dance Competition, get yer ass out to Firebaugh this weekend, take some pics and have a gay ol' time! "Gay" meaning "fun" not...well, you know. I heard they might have some production sketches and other Indiana Jones stuff from the filming that took place there last year as well. That'd be awesome to check out (you know they had the wrap party over there last year? Awesome!) There is also a Sunday breakfast thing too, but I'm not too sure about the time or price on that. For more info, call (929) 828-9690 or visit the web site here. If you do attend, please shoot some pics over!

Our swede makes Swede Of The Day over at Swededfilms.com (that's a lot of swedes!)
So we submitted our swede over to Sweded Films and today, we made the coveted (some what coveted) Swede Of The Day! That's pretty awesome. So if you haven't seen it, check it out over here and (prepare for a shameless plug) be sure to help spread the word!

Raiders....Sweded! You guys can do it better, right?
So here it is, our swede. And the lucky film for our first swede is Raiders Of The Lost Ark. Yup, overall our production cost us around $17 for random things we used (or didn't use) in the project. So please, by all means, let us know what you think, good or bad. And we issue the same challenge we issued last time we posted about sweding: kick our ass. I know this can't possibly be the best swede that Fresno can produce so pick your favorite film, scene, trailer WHATEVER! Just get out there with your friends and create and send them our way. Depending on response, maybe we can have some sort of showcase (contest?) here on Dumb Drum!

Dem Reviews: Indiana Jones-TKOTCS
Let's make this spoiler free and simple, huh?
Rank of Indy movies for me
1. Last Crusade
2. Raiders Of The Lost Ark
3. Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull
4. Temple Of Doom
So you can take that for what it's worth. Didn't see any Fresno in the film (all that for nothing?) but Eagle Field made it in there for a whole 3 seconds or so (w00t! w00t!). It's good clean fun for the whole family and I didn't want to hurt Shia by the end of it....okay, I did, but those are personal reasons. And you know how old people run? Their gait is just a bit different from that of a younger person. Well, Indy kinda had that gait as he ran around and deep down, it made me a bit sad. Don't get me wrong, he's still Indy...just a little, well.....old. I feel old just watching him. There were some amazing shots in the film and although it had it's short comings, it was still over all and enjoyable flick.

New Indy 4 featurette appears, now with more Eagle Field! ...maybe....

So the hype machine for Indy 4 is rolling as I recently heard about Dr. Pepper cans having images of the icon on them. So over at indianajones.com they've posted a new feature on director Steven Spielberg doing what he does so best. Now, it might just be the fanboy in me there were some shots in there that look like they were shot at Eagle Field out in Firebaugh. Now, I've been to the location many times as a child and recently as a grown-ass man (what, I loves me some WWII history) and I'd be willing to bet that shot up there is from there. Anyways, the video is cool, nothing special, but if you'd like you can search and find some other local shots in it.....or just stop being a fanboy and just wait for the damn movie to drop in a week or so. Head on over to SlashFilm for the embedded video.

First Indy 4 reviews hit....and they're not good :(
Aintitcoolnews has posted 2 early reviews for the upcoming summer blockbuster, Indiana Jones And The Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull and *surprise, surprise* they aren't very positive. Now, I haven't gone through and read the reviews thoroughly myself (I'm trying to stay spoiler-free here) but the headlines for the posts speak for themselves. Interested in seeing what these guys had to say? Head on over here for the first one and here for the second one but beware: there's bound to be spoilers in there. So will this affect my plans to go see it? Nope, I'll take it as a sign to lower my expectations and that'll probably let me enjoy the film even more....hopefully.

A little more Indy 4 trickles onto the web in the form of a new TV spot
Man, either the marketing machine is waiting for the GTA 4 & Iron Man hype to die down before hitting full steam ahead or they just think this film will sell itself (it will). Anyways, head on over to Aintitcoolnews.com here to download the spot in super keen Quicktime formats!

Geeezzz.....FIANLLY!
Yeah, it took me a couple days (what can I say, I'm lazy) but here's the video for you guys. Nothing mind blowing but nonetheless interesting to see these legends walking around all the while those bastard PAs trying to get in the way of your shots so I cut out some of the fat and this is what you get: A couple of minutes of the Star Wars creator (see that fat head? That's where it all came from....shit's deep) & Indiana Jones himself walking around in Fresno. Hmmmm.... mano a mano, who would win in a fist fight, I wonder? Comment away!
