The Dumb Are Mostly Intrigued By The Drum

White Stripes frontman and Raconteurs founding member Jack White scores this Coke Zero ad and will be collaborating with Alicia Keys for the theme song "Another Way To Die" in the new Quantum of Solace film. This James Bond-style Coke Zero ad is part of Coke's global campaing tie-in with the Bond film and is part of Coke's largest campaign ever to support Coke Zero, which I happen to drink by the case. Bond fans will be able to pick up a limited edition Quantum of Solace bottle featuring the famous gun barrel and an image of James Bond in a pose with silhouetted Bond girls. Bond, Jack, Zero....Win. This will probably be a soundtrack I'll pick up once it's released.

I know that God didn't invent them, but damn are Pluots delicious....Oh, didn't see you guys there. Well after taking it easy for a week due some insane deadlines at work, everything should be back to normal this week....somewhat. Anyways, besides working most of this holiday weekend, lets recap some of the coolness:

I remember seeing the cardboard standee for this flick in the lobby at Manchester when I saw Wall-E. Today I found this trailer so I figured I'd share it with yous guys. The comedy is based on British writer Toby Young's 2001 memoir, also titled "How To Lose Friends and Alienate People. Since I'm lazy, I'll let Wiki explain the films plot. Thanks Wik. Why yes, there is an official website, so glad you asked. I've never seen "Shaun"(yeah, I know) but I really enjoyed "Fuzz", "Shit just got real". Should be lots of laughs. Megan Fox, yeay. Look for it October 3rd.

The latest trailer for the upcoming film "The Spirit" found it's way onto just about every movie site and blog on the web today only to be removed soon after by the powers that be. The people have spoken and so far, it seems like most of them are saying "DO NOT WANT", especially the Spirit/Eisner fanboys. Either way, we have it here so check it out for yourself and let us know what you thought of it.

Full steam ahead with promotion of The Wackness as yet another trailer has dropped, which you can check out here. And as if I haven't felt so good about watching a non-nerd film in a long time (kinda hard to rival the Iron Man hype) I went over to the updates web site this morning and saw the catalog of music that they have displayed there: So many classics! Oh my God, if they released a soundtrack with all these songs, I would have to double check and make sure the producers hadn't downloaded one of my playlists and slapped their logo on it. It's uncanny how many of those songs are on my everyday rotation (yeah, I'm an old school nut and I live in the past so sue me). Well, if you needed something to look forward to on Monday (besides returning to work, of course) word comes that a new trailer for the X-Files sequel (1st official trailer) is to drop. Don't know when but as soon as it does, come back here to get all the info. Still can't get over that I Want To Believe subtitle but whatever....

Yahoo! Movies has just released a new trailer online for the Prince Caspian film. If you haven't already done so, head on over there to check out the video in HD.

This film has received some REAL bad reviews from early test screenings but this trailer doesn't look half bad. Check it out and let us know what you think!

Well, it's nice to finally see footage from the film after the big shoot here in Fresno last year. There's nothing more to say, just watch the damn thing. It's taught!

Fast and furious. No not the production of Blur, rather these last couple of weeks. We're working to get a short shot (huh?) in about a week or two of total production (from concept to final) for the local Latino Film Festival held at The Fresno Art Museum next month. In the mean time, I had some free time this weekend and wanted to mess around with this trailer. Sounds horrible but just to get a look. Also, as you can tell, I've made it all black & white....and I think it looks nice! Most of the film will be shot at night so that will help as well. Maybe we should do the film like this? Did you see it again for the the first time? Remember seeing that there trailer in a pre-9/11 2001? Oh how things were so much simpler back then. The Limp Bizkit song that actually worked with the trailer (again, nostalgia rears it's ugly head into that thought), the recently out of production Toyota Supra racing a Dodge Charger, that awesome crash at the end....looking at it now, it was destined to be a classic just from the trailer ( I mean, shit....it's one of those "In a world..." trailers!). And on June 22nd, it was released. And, as a direct result, within months the scene was dead in Fresno. "How can a film change things in the real world?" one might ask. This was one of the first times that I saw first hand the imprint film was capable of leaving in our real world. But overall, was it was a good or bad imprint? That's the question with this film. On one hand, the attention it brought onto the scene that was, ultimately, the cause of it's implosion. On the other, it was the fertilizer that caused it to bloom into the $257 billion dollar business it is now. Sellout? Perhaps. But it was going to go mainstream eventually. What I ponder is what if this wasn't the way it was supposed to happen. Think about it in terms of a musical artist. Would you rather be know for working hard out of your apartment putting out record after record, playing joints that only very few people had actually ever heard of, all before being signed to a major record label and then blowing up or would you take the instant fame that would be thrust upon you by winning a national contest such as American Idol? No training, no background, no history. Just bam! Your a star. Either way, the outcome is the same, but the means of getting to that point are vastly different. This film, as a whole and it's lasting effects, is not too different from what The Punisher does. Sure, he only kills bad guys, but killing is killing, right? Or is it okay in some instances? Well, this'll be up for debate for years to come but please, I'd like to hear your views on this anit-hero of a film that is TFATF! Because all in all, I'm just a filmmaker trying to make my own imprint in the real world, without having to resort to Frank Castle-type tactics. Or is that the path I should be taking with Blur?
