So what's this whole Metal Gear thing about? Find out all about it...I mean everything!
Gametrailers have put together in-depth videos in their ongoing Retrospective series and since the latest (and last?) entry into the video game series, Metal Gear Solid 4 will be released this coming week, they have dedicated the latest to the groundbreaking series. So far, four separate videos have been released and they all do a wonderful job in documenting the series from it's inception to it's current state. So take some time and watch these great videos if you feel like catching up to the Metal Gear mythology. But be warned, each entry comes in at around 23 mins. so be sure you have some free time. After you check out the first one embedded here, head on over here to catch the rest. Good stuff.

Now you know how to spend that Stimulus Rebate Check on; Konami announces details on Limited Edition MGS4 PS3 bundle
Well, it's pricey at $599 but it's LIMITED EDITION which means it's worth it (keep telling yourself that.....keep telling yourself that)! Lookit how cool that Gun Metal Gray color looks! Yeah, but for the price they could of at least thrown in an 80 GB hard drive and maybe that MGS4 branded Bluetooth headset. But if you must, head on over to Konami's Web Site here to get all the info on how to pre-order the system.

P.T. Anderson to direct Metal Gear movie?!
Well, with imminent release of one of the biggest releases of the year in the video game world in Metal Gear Solid 4 (but not going to get as much hype as that other game) news about the franchise has started to boil over in certain circles. The latest coming out of Kotaku is that Kojima-san (creator/director of all things Metal Gear) is interested in having P.T. Anderson helm the film adaptation of his beloved franchise. P.T. Anderson, director of Punch-Drunk Love, There Will Be Blood and Magnolia directing and action-adventure film based on a video game. Hmmmm...although I'm going to lean to slashfilm.com's side and agree that they might have meant Paul W.S. Anderson (director of awesomeness such as Mortal Kombat, Resident Evil & Aliens Vs. Predator) which would suck cause that hack would most certainly bring no justice to the franchise (his wife Milla Jovovich might be perfect for the role of Meryl, though). But if the guy was in fact NOT misquoted, lets all sit back and imagine a P.T. Anderson Metal Gear film, shall we?

If Mario and Sonic can play nice...
So yesterday, I was out collecting cans for my MGS4PS3 fund when, as I'm dumpster diving behind BRE software, I come across a stack of Assassins Creed games. Thats when it hits me. Why are there no medieval Assassins in the Metal Gear franchise?!? Swear to flat top Jesus, I must be clairvoyant cuz today Kotaku led me to this video on you tube. WTF Snake?!? Where did this come from?? First Super Smash Bros. and now this. Yes, I realize the date but if the guys at Konami are gonna go this far then they may as well include the Altair costume as an unlockable. Yep.
