E3 2008: Nintendo & Sony press conferences deliver nothing spectacular

Hmmm, so far, it seems like I'm not missing much from this years E3 except for a big letdown (last years was pretty bad, too). Sure, it'd still be nice to be dining on free booze as I play some of the latest games but this mornings press conferences from two of the industry's giants proved very much uneventful. Not a single damn thing excited me from Nintendo and the PS3 price cut was the only "meh" moment of Sony's presentation. 'sigh' Maybe next year, huh? Check out Joystiq for more thorough recaps on today's events and the upcoming days as well.

The best & worst Playstation ads of all time

Ah, Sony. For years they have pelted us with ads for their video game system and software for said system. There have been some bad ones and some good ones. Well, PS3 Fanboy has compiled the two lists and have they ready for you to check out in their series called "This Is Advertising". Of course, most of these ads have never been seen on TV screens on our shores being as Europe always gets the cool (and not-so cool) ad campaigns. Their number one for best ad is posted above and I believe I totally agree with them on this one. Check out the best here and the worst here and you let us know which ones stood out to you.

Sony Europe continues weird ad streak, thumb for penis ad blazing across the web

Sony Europe has always put out some very weird & controversial ads and that might be because of how lax Europeans are when it comes down to nudity and language. So this ad shouldn't come as a surprise but as always, here in the good ol' U.S. of A....we're just not used to it quite yet (well, at least most of us, as it may seem). So if your interested in seeing what a man would look like if he had a thumb instead of a penis, go for it and head on over to Joystiq here to see the full ad, which was created by Sony Europe's ad agency TBWA\Wien. Beware....this is the most NSFW EVAR! Even though, technically, it's not a cock you'll see, it's very easy to mistake the image as something offensive if your prude of a co-worker sees you eyeing the image. Enjoy!....or not.
